Taking on the task of delivering your own industry awards was certainly not one for the faint hearted, however, true to our mantra of creating a ‘Stand out event. Every time.’ we were up for the challenge, we may be a bit biased – but we think we nailed it!
Rewinding the clocks, a bit, we entered a tender process back in 2018. The Events Association put Crackerjack in the final three, with a formalised proposal winning us the contract. The rest you can say was history.
Fast forward to Tuesday 26 March 2019 and D-Day had arrived.
With over 14 dedicated suppliers in toe, 17 awards to be worked into the programme and 350 guests due to arrive, our well-oiled machine, aka our team, went into overdrive! It was show time! It was time to see whether we got the balance between ‘business’ (the awards ceremony) and ‘fun’ (networking/entertainment/humour/food/beverage) right for the biggest critics of them all – our industry peers.
The historic Shed 10 on Auckland’s Waterfront played host to an evening that captivated and stimulated all five senses.
Annie Crummer and her ensemble kicked the evening off with a high energy performance from the impending musical We will Rock You with the theme continuing into the Awards Ceremony and live stings played throughout.
MC, Mike Puru, went above and beyond and continued the musical theme with a comical Phantom of the Opera tribute to our event sponsors, and might we say, he did a phenomenal job in keeping the event on time too!
Dust Palace’s ‘pizzaz’, a sumptuous three-course meal and with fine wine flowing, the networking and celebrations continued well into the night.
And the feedback from our industry peers - from our unbiased sources might we add:
“The NZ Events Association certainly know how to host an event. Their Awards Gala held last night at Auckland’s Shed 10 was slick with every detail carefully considered and managed”.
NZ Media and Advertising News
“Great event really well presented and totally on time! We were very proud to be your Host City Partner”.
ATEED
“Sophisticated, slick and made me proud to be part of the NZEA industry”
“These sorts of event cement the loyalty to the Association and unite the industry. Well done”.
“The venue was stunning, one of the better interior design jobs I’ve ever experienced at an event!”
“The event far exceeded my expectations. The layout, the decor, flowers, floor plan, it was all very well done. The MC did very well, the videos and imagery were superb, I gorged myself on the food and was definitely full, and the pink carpet made it.”
Oh, by the way, Crackerjack Events have been invited back to produce next year’s NZEA Gala Awards.
