A flagship fundraising event for the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra (APO), Crackerjack Events successfully tendered to manage and deliver their Winter Gala in 2018.

As like many of our events, we became an extension of the APO’s team. Some key elements, such as Naming Rights sponsor, the auction software and theme had been set prior to us coming on board so it was our job to further develop and collaborate, and then pull all stakeholders and plans together to make this night one to remember – for all the right reasons!

26 June 2018 was D-Day. The theme of the night was Bond. James Bond. and the venue was the beautiful waterfront location, Shed 10.

Guests were seated and the evening kicked off with a James Bond theme instrumental performed by some of APO’s most talented musicians. The evening then continued with MC Wallace Chapman leading the charge and intermittently joined by singer Esther Stephens throughout the evening.

In keeping with the night’s 007 styling, guests were treated to supreme food, martini’s (shaken, not stirred) and an assortment of casino tables to try out their luck - all bets contributing towards the night’s fundraising tally.

As this night was central to Fundraising, a prestigious live and silent auction run on the night facilitated by GalaBid with items such as the opportunity to conduct the APO, a white gold, aquamarine and diamond pendant and a 7-day luxury cruise around Spain and Portugal all up for grabs. Guests could bid for the silent auction through Galabid’s app and when it came to the live auction, all guests could bid on their phones with real-time bidding available.

The night went off without a hitch and significant funding was achieved!
