It certainly wasn’t a ‘ruff’ day in the office when we were approached by Ponsonby Business Association and the SPCA to event manage the SPCA’S ‘Walk your Dog to the Moon’ fundraiser on Ponsonby Road.
The ‘Walk your Dog to the Moon’ was a nationwide campaign aimed at raising funds for the SPCA through participants and their furry companions completing a ‘step-a-thon’ over the month of November to ‘reach the moon’.
To blast off the month long campaign, dog walks were organised throughout the country on the same day and time.
Over 200 participants and their furry companions ascended onto Ponsonby’s Western Park with designated doggy rest areas, a start line, coffee vans, registrations and sponsor activations.
Ponsonby residents thought the walk was ‘barking mad’ as it wound its way along its posh shops and cafés to the finish line.
Substantial funds were raised for a good cause.
